About Ferally Good

What’s this ‘Ferally Good’ all about then?

Ferally Good is a non-profit, community inspired, rural camping weekend celebrating music, food, games and craft.

Ferally breaks away from the modern business structured festival attitude and instead embraces values of working together as a collective to make good music, good food and good memories, with emphasis on working well with nature. We aim to reclaim a gathering of years gone by with interactions rich with connection, humble traditions and a sense of belonging.

Ferally Good encourages everyone involved whether attending, performing, volunteering, or contributing for the first time, to help shape the weekend by sharing their skills, ideas, creativity, and time. Together, we create a dynamic, welcoming, and memorable gathering for the people. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you, please get in touch via email.

Music & Stages

Ferally Good Gathering offers three days of live music across three unique stages, each with its own character and atmosphere. We love creating little worlds that invite you in, stitched together from salvaged materials, janky structures, creative flair, and always plenty of warm light. It’s a visual treat and all part of the magic.

Main Stage

Our main stage has grown year after year and has welcomed some truly inspiring performers playing homegrown Folk, Blues, Jazz and all things good… and this year will be no exception.

Framed by a lit up stained glass surround, old painted doors and bric a brac a plenty. The stage is a visual hug for the eyes, and welcomes all to gather, dance, laugh and maybe even a little cry.

Join us, old faces and new, for our Friday tradition of a Ceilidh

‘The Fairly good inn’

We have a Trad style pub “The Fairly Good inn” selling local beers and ciders out of an1960s grain bin. We have a variety of reasonably priced Somerset Ciders, Ales and Beers. We also have a healthy range of soft drinks and wines. Money made from the bar greatly supports the festival and in turn the local brewers. (Cash preffered please).

Caravanna Stage

The Caravanna stage hosts a full program of exceptional musicians throughout the weekend. With red velvet curtains and 70s sofas….It has an intimate and homely feeling for daytime lounging and night time dancing. We see-saw the performances between the two stages over the weekend so nobody has to miss a single act!

Amphitheatre

As darkness falls, the Amphitheatre comes into its own. The music winds down on the other stages, people are drawn to the warmth of the firelight flickering through the gaps of the amphitheatre. Improvised sessions and musical collaboration happens naturally here long into the night.

The Feast & Worlds Biggest Crumble

On Saturday Afternoon, we set aside time to fulfill the very heart of the gatherings concept and come together for a sit down feast, where everyone will be invited to sit at one long table, meeting with old faces and new, accompanied by games and music. The dinner will use locally sourced ingredients and bring together themes of harvest time, community gatherings and general folkyness. (Be a legend and bring your own plate and cup)

We have a very exciting addition this year to fulfill those Roald Dahl style childhood dreams. We have set ourselves the major undertaking of reclaiming the worlds biggest crumble title. To set the record we will be making a 500 kilo crumble! This will be made of mixed seasonal Fruit as it is harvest time after all! If you would like to take part by bringing spare fruit you may have, please do! Plum, apple rhubarb galore, this will be a theatrical and delicious celebration for all.

Food, Stalls, Workshops & Kids

Our home kitchen will be running all weekend, serving a delicious menu and plenty of other delights (cash preferred, please).

Alongside our home kitchen, our wonderful foodie friends will be serving an entirely vegan Italian menu, including wood-fired pizzas, arancini balls, and much more throughout the weekend. Delizioso!

We’ll also have our friends with their travelling coffee stall, serving seriously high-grade coffee… the perfect morning (or all-day) pick-me-up.

Stalls

Our selection of stalls changes and evolves every year, but you can always expect a fantastic mix of artisans, bric-a-brac, clothing, chainsaw carvings, and much more.

Workshops

We have a dedicated workshop tent with a blackboard to schedule the weekend. We have workshop organisers come to run workshops during the festival, but with so many creative people in one field the space ultimately is run by the community. So its a case of checking what’s on, signin up for activities, or even getting in early to run your own workshop to share your skill or passion.

(Stalls and workshop holders please send us an email for pre-organising more info)

Kids & Families

At Ferally, we love welcoming families and seeing happy kids enjoying the festival. We have a dedicated children’s tent run by a small team, with a variety of activities scheduled throughout the weekend to keep all ages entertained.

The Land

We have a beautiful piece of land organised for the event in Meare near Glasto. The community land implements ecological systems and principles that work with nature, i.e. natural showers and compost loos, so we ask those attending to bring only natural products please and take responsibility for any rubbish and recycling created over the weekend.

Overall Ferally

We look forward to welcoming friends, family, and new faces this year and for many years to come. Ferally is growing naturally by word of mouth, bringing together a collective of creative, like minded people to share experiences, build connections, and create lasting memories for all generations. Good folk, good food, good music, and good company… Ferally Good, forever.
